Classically trained at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, where he majored in Voice and Piano, Lawrence has gone places in terms of his musical career.
Lawrence or “L.A” as he’s fondly called by his peers is a multi-talented artist. He sings, plays the piano/keyboard, arranges music, teaches music, and acts in musical theater. Before concentrating in performing in lounge acts and stage plays, Lawrence performed pure classical.
Lawrence was a featured pianist in both Paco Park and Concert at the Park Presents several times. He has also performed as a singer and pianist at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Theater and The Meralco Theater with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Manila Philharmonic Orchestra and University of Santo Tomas Symphony Orchestra. Classically trained, he was a former member of the Coro Tomasino, UST Liturgicon, Philippine Male Chorale and the UST Singers where his vocal techniques were nourished.
In 2004, Lawrence along with the Philippine Male Chorale captivated audiences in Europe having joined the prestigious World Choir Olympics in Bremen, Germany where the group bagged the silver medal award. Lawrence also enthralled audiences with his sterling solo performances in the key cities of Europe such as Austria, Belgium, Italy, France and Germany. He was also part of the Philippine Delegation during the Choir Conducting Seminar held at Bremen World Choir Olympics.
Lawrence was also the former pianist and musical arranger of Rhythm and voices where he took on a six-month contract and performed at the COEX Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul Korea and the Makati Shangri-la. He has also performed with the group in top-notched venues such as the Lounge of the Podium, The Tap Room of the Manila Hotel, and The Lobby lounge of Westin Philippine Plaza.
As a thespian, Lawrence has been featured in Musical Plays such as Musical Theater Philippines’ “Alikabok” and “Sino Ka Ba Jose Rizal” where he was also the vocal coach and rehearsal pianist. He was also one of the lead actors and musical director for Gantimpala Theater Foundation’s Summer Acting Workshop Recital entitled “Katy”.
Lawrence has worked with the finest in the musical industry such as Ryan Cayabyab, Celeste Legaspi, Regine Velasquez, Jinky Llamanzares, Mitch Valdez, Ogie Alcasid and Zsazsa Padilla to name a few.
As a recording artist, Lawrence’s voice has been featured in the Original Sound Track of Musical Theater Philippines’ “Sino Ka Ba Jose Rizal.” He has also musically directed shows for government agencies like the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur Chorale and the San Juan Municipal Choir.
